Christopher Hopwood

Christopher was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and raised in Western Pennsylvania, where he attended Catholic elementary and high schools. He later graduated from Penn State University and began his professional career in retail with Strawbridge & Clothier in Philadelphia.

After receiving a series of promotions and taking on leadership roles with several prominent retail organizations, he developed extensive experience in operations, customer service, employee development, and team leadership. While managing the Liz Claiborne flagship store in Manhattan, he transitioned into Human Resources, beginning a successful career that would span a variety of industries and organizations.

Throughout his HR career, he became known for building strong relationships, advising business leaders, supporting employees, and developing practical people strategies that contributed to organizational success. His experience has included employee relations, talent management, recruitment, performance management, organizational development, and HR operations.

He has lived in New York City for the past 37 years, and the city has played an important role in both his professional journey and personal life. He retired from corporate Human Resources in 2024 and began a new chapter by establishing an online HR consulting agency with a former colleague. Through the consultancy, he continued to share my knowledge and experience by helping organizations strengthen their people practices, navigate workplace challenges, and create environments where employees and businesses can thrive.

He is also a proud father and grandfather. His son and two grandsons live in Philadelphia, and his family remains an important and cherished part of his life.
